HSBC Bank Armenia has restored one of the old, wooden, traditional Sevanian sailing
boats with the help and efforts of AYAS Nautical Research Club based on preserved
pictures. The Sevanian boat will take part in future regattas and is aimed to boost the
restoration and development of the sailing sport in Armenia.
The boat is made with pine wood, weights one ton with length of 9m. and width of 2.5m.
and capacity of 15 people.
The launch and naming/blessing ceremony of the sailing boat will take place at 12:00
noon on 23 August 2008 at “Vishup†shore, Lake Sevan.
